Doha, Qatar - Oryx Cup, November 19-21
Qualified 5th at 134.386. Finished 2nd in Heat 1A followed with a 4th place finish in 2B. Heats 3, 4 saw the U-17 with 2 second place finishes and finished 4th in points for the day. Start of final got washed down with a roostertail and did not have time for the restart after the U-5 flip.

Congratulations to J Michael Kelly and the U-7 Graham Trucking on their Oryx Cup World Championship win. Also Congratulations to the U-1 Oboy Oberto team and Steve David on their spectacular display on the way to another National Championship.

Special Thanks to Sheikh Hassan bin Jabor al Thani and the people of Qatar for hosting the Oryx Cup World Championship, they put on a world class event.

Our Gang Racing Team was the brain child of Gold Cup winner Nate Brown with the idea that a crew of regular guys could be blended together with the common goal of building a state-of-the-art race boat in their spare time. The boat was completed in a record time of six months (just in time for the Chevrolet Cup in Seattle in 2007). The first weekend on the water, Nate Brown brought the U-17 to a lap speed of more than 145 MPH, hitting 186 MPH in the straightaways. Last year ABRA Unlimited Rookie of the Year Kip Brown placed 4th in the Chevrolet Cup in Seattle. The team is now preparing for the 2009 season and who knows, the possibilities are endless.
